Kids Right To Know | World Traveling Food Safety Activists and Educator Rachel Parent Speaks Out at the Upcoming March Against Monsanto Participating in a Compelling Bee Requiem:

TORONTOMay 23, 2014 /CNW/ - Who better to bring the message home about the growing threats of GMOs than the girl who slayed the dragon? Since Rachel Parent's debate with Kevin O'Leary on CBC's Lang and O'Leary Exchange, she's become a YouTube star, appeared in a long list of television shows, radio shows and magazines, began writing for the Huffington Post Blog, speaking in universities, trade shows, film festivals and conferences, the likes of which have taken her as far as Australia and back.
If there's anyone left in Toronto who hasn't been able to wrap their heads around the effects of GMOs, this event will probably do the trick. Representing the alarming spike in bee deaths, a requiem for the bees will be performed at Queen's Park, complete with coffin and pallbearers. Here, Rachel, along with Sierra Club Canada's Director, John Bennet will be speaking briefly. Immediately following will be the March Against Monsanto, which will end up at Christie Pits Park. This is where Toronto's first GMO-Free Festival and Farmers Market will take place and where Rachel will be speaking again more extensively.
