Marchers around the world protest in favor of GMO labeling | wbir.com

A nation-wide push against genetically modified food has made its way to East Tennessee. Protesters gathered in more than 400 cities around the world over the weekend to rally against biotech company Monsanto and its genetically modified products, or GMOs. Monsanto sells seeds for everything from corn, wheat and cotton, to lettuce and carrots. It also makes weed control products such as Roundup, and invests in crop research and development. Food activists say the company's genetically modified seeds are dangerous to health and harmful to the environment, and they are pushing for mandatory labeling of GMO products.
