Responsible Choices to cosponsor I-522 debate on October 17th

Responsible Choices, in cooperation with four other local non-partisan, non-profit organizations, will hold a debate on Initiative 522, the initiative that would require labeling of foods produced using genetically-modified organisms.
Representatives of both sides of the initiative will present the case for their positions. KCTS’ Enrique Cerna will moderate the debate.
The debate is being held as part of a fundraiser to benefit Responsible Choices, a non-partisan, impartial organization that educates and informs Washington State voters about who is funding initiatives and the impact of ballot measures on Washington citizens and state and local governments. Hosting the fundraiser are Speaker of the House Frank Chopp, former State Auditor Brian Sonntag, and Kirkland City Council Member Toby Nixon.
Co-sponsoring the debate with Responsible Choices are the  the University of Washington Division of Public Behavioral Health & Justice Policy, CityClub, the Municipal League of King County and the League of Women Voters of Seattle.The event begins at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 17 at the University of Washington Center for Urban Horticulture 3501 NE 41st St, Seattle, WA 98195.
Light hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served. Suggested donation is $75.
